....I got stuck! What an understatement! Oh, man, I can barely believe it's been nearly a year since my last update. Not a lot to report, just been consumed by the grind. I hope my intrepid readers are doing well. I can relay that the next chapter is basically finished, its just waiting on me to....do....something, to finish it up. It's just one of those things where I get stalled out, and just have to wait for it to pass. It's been difficult a winter, but now that spring is right around the corner, I'm feeling my muses stir. It's hard to find the time to get down to business and write, but my lovely boys are definitely eager to be off to their next chapter and they've been a little, insistent, lately. I'm still dreaming of what comes next for them, and of a few other worlds (still stewing on that space epic) of adventure they could explore, so who knows, maybe this spring and summer will bring some goodies. Just wanted to pop in and say, hey yall! ;D

Just dipping in really quickly! I haven't abandoned the story! It's just been a stressful few weeks. Work is really busy and I've had sick pets, one of my older ones who still isn't doing very well and I've been working on turning one of my sort of hobbies into a side hustle, because, vet bills are no joke! Meanwhile, my gorgeous boys are very much not happy with me.

I hope you guys that may still be checking in are all doing well, and if I can just get through this month, hopefully things will settle down. One can dream!

Not much to report today, just staying in, staying cool and hoping to spend the afternoon writing. Got chores done yesterday, including some yard work. Caught a break and knocked it out underneath overcast skies and in the midst of a very light rain which was fine by me! Temperatures were bearable but boy, am I reminded how out of shape I am when I embark on these spontaneous, strenuous outdoor activities. Yikes!

I’ve been going back and watching a lot of the J.D. trial and it’s wild how the mainstream media simps for A.H. whose seemingly willing to out right lie under oath. It’s a little frightening to think about what else goes on out in the world, especially for people without the money and resources Johnny Depp has. Makes me glad I’m (mostly) content to remain in my hermitage. One can take the hermit life too far, but hey, don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it. Heh!

In other news, I’m attempting to pull a Chopped Champion move and throw a bunch of ingredients together along with some leftovers for a masterful, delicious dish for lunch. I’ve tried this before with varying degrees of success, so we’ll see! (Edit: it turned out decent, a win for me! Heh!)

Planning to spend the afternoon writing, though I really need to get a new desk and a proper chair. I find it difficult to type on a laptop without sitting in a straight up desk chair, but unfortunately, a while back I got rid of my desk and chairs…back then I wasn’t doing any writing so it hasn’t really mattered, but now I need to think about what I need. I hope to continue writing enough to warrant the expense, I have something in mind but bills get paid first, so another thing to figure out!

On the writing front, I’m working on Angels Ain’t Easy. Unlike Bad Luck, Bad Guys and High Mountain Rangers which I had a definite vision of how that fic would begin, and end, I don’t have a clear vision of where this story is going. I’m just gonna let it go where it wants and enjoy the trip.

Just a moment of me actually being able to stay awake long enough to post something. Heh! For a certain amount of time I actually did forget I had this journal, sort of. I was shocked to realize it's been nearly a year and a half since I've engaged with it. Time has a way of stretching out, then snapping back like a rubber band, sometimes feeling unbearably long and tedious, other times moving much too fast! Wish I could say I've made great accomplishments this last while, or had many adventures, or even read lots of books, but alas, mostly it's just been the usual, getting by, confronting old ghosts, stressing over bills, savoring the quiet weekends when they come.

On the old fandom front: I never did get back around to posting more of my old fic to A03. Sometimes I get a lovely comment on some of my already posted works that brings me to think about uploading more, but I never seem to manage it. Instead, I remember back to the heady days of LJ and then drift off again without uploading anything. Occasionally, I think upon all my old, dearest flames (LOTR, RPS, Stargate Atlantis, Hawaii 5-0, MCU/Loki, Tour of Duty) but that's mostly all I do, think of them fondly. Every now and then I'll seek fic out and lurk about on A03. More often I nibble on my newer faves, The Captive Prince trilogy, and the All For the Game trilogy in form of audio books that I listen to at work.

On the new fandom front: plot twist, I'm writing. And am thoroughly enjoying the process, quite possibly more than I can ever remember doing. I'm just having fun, putting no pressure on myself, and don't really care what anyone else thinks about it, which is probably why I'm enjoying it so, ha! I'll probably be posting some rambling notes here, just 'cause I want to, and then eventually the fic. It's a fairly obscure fandom which few will probably have ever heard of, but I'm in a strange state of bliss while writing it. Anyhow, that's all for now.

...very interesting. It's difficult to believe my last update here was Jan 7th, it feels like it's been much longer! Jan was nuts, being literally my busiest month out of the entire year at work, not to mention my uncle was in the hospital for over a week. (he's out now, yay!)

I'm moved to update here for anyone passing by, just to prove I'm still in residence. Have totally lost control of the flist, and I've accepted I'll never totally catch up. But don't be surprised if some of you get a comment on some of your recent, or older, stuff. I know there's lots I've missed. I hope to write something soon, possibly even get back to doing some photo manips of my favorite lovely boys, though 'soon' always seems to turn into 'sometime in the next year or so'!

Can't let this post fizzle end without wishing that lovely Bean a happy and (long) bright future with his new wife! God, let's hope it lasts and is good for them both. ;)
