Fandom Friday Recs!
Aug. 21st, 2020 10:22 amAll right, if you're a Stargate Atlantis McKay/Sheppard lover, you've probably already heard of this one but I'm rec'ing it anyhow as this series should be considered required reading. Awesomeness abounds in this marathon read. I read this years ago, and recently having had a sudden urge for epic length McShep fics, remembered this one and tracked it down. Rereading this got me drawn back into fandom, back into wanting to tinker with my LJ ultimately leading me to (finally) hop over here to Dreamwidth. I can't say enough about how lovely this is. It's the ultimate slow burn relationship, and the long, gradual friendship that's built throughout the telling of this story is it's very heart; figure in some action, deftly handled characters and of course humor and you've got it all. Aside from John and Rodney, Zalenka is featured throughout the series, as well as Sam Carter, Jack O'Neil, Daniel Jackson, Teal'c and Cam from SG-1. Black Helicopters is 63947 words, and Blackout Conditions tops out at 100,000, not to mention the other installments.
I'll list the series titles but you must begin with: Black Helicopters at Dawn by
