archet: one true pairing (a/b state of mind)
So happy to have caught this beautiful fic over at AO3. A wonderful read if you enjoy hot Aragorn/Boromir...and it's hot in that way I want my A/B, beautiful unfolding passion underpinned by playfulness, joyfulness, and just a sweet sense of solace these two discover in one another, not just by their physical joining, but in spirit as well. Aragorn is the steady, unhurried one, not wanting to waste a moment of enjoying Boromir, of patiently, lovingly pulling the pleasure out of his lover, while Boromir, naturally is eager, willing to rush headlong into their joining. I loved their connection, the discoveries made in one another, the tenderness both emotional and physical. I found this Aragorn very compelling, depicted as a man bearing scars both physical and spiritually, not really fitting in with the world of Men, not completely with that of the Elves. Luscious and lovely and edged with that brilliant heat and a bit of melancholy.

Give of Myself by claquesous

Summary:"I have shocked you," Aragorn said, sounding faintly embarrassed. "I know it is not only Elfkind whose customs I offend."Aragorn extends his friendship, such as it is, to Boromir in Lothlórien.

So, obviously still on a LOTR kick! Now, I live for stories where Boromir survives Amon Hen, especially if his King is by his side and is resolved not to let his Steward go, not for 'crown or queen'. This is a lovely, warm fic layered with a bit of intrigue (there's some that aren't on board for the new post-war Gondor and her new King) and an understanding, loving Arwen that not only tolerates her King's love for his Steward, and in this fic, holds to the truth that it was Boromir that set Aragorn firmly onto the path to the kingship at long last. Add a dash of Legolas and Gimli and what's not to love? I really enjoy post-war stories like these where there are battles of a different kind left to fight. I think my favorite thing here, other than a surviving Boromir, is that Boromir wears both the Evenstar and the ring of Barahir on a chain around his neck, put there by Aragorn. I love that visual. Ok, so enough mucking about, go read! ;)
