The sweat had long since cooled on their skin, and now, the warmth that had only an hour before spiraled rampant between them, within them, fell calm. Calm, but not vanished, not cooled away, and Aragorn tightened his arms around his lover, kissed his hair.
“My Boromir,” he whispered, and his gaze tracked the glimmering brilliance of the firelight reflected in the fair hair where Boromir’s head lay pillowed on his chest.
Aragorn smiled, and it was a smile of contentment, of an intrinsic exhaustion left in him by their lovemaking. He breathed, remained still, and in the room of his heart no cares could enter, not now when the one who commanded his heart was held safe in the circle of his arms. The fire in the hearth crackled, drawing his attention and Aragorn stared into the flames, and did not think of the long, difficult road that had brought them to this place.
Instead, Aragorn kissed Boromir’s hair, pulled him impossibly closer and waited for his love to wake, and again let loose the heat banked in their hearts, their bodies. Aragorn lay still, not dreaming or dozing but just enjoying their rest, and he knew in a way he had never known before that they two, somehow, would always be together.

The sweat had long since cooled on their skin, and now, the warmth that had only an hour before spiraled rampant between them, within them, fell calm. Calm, but not vanished, not cooled away, and Viggo tightened his arms around his lover, kissed his hair.
“I love you,” he whispered against Sean’s hair, and his eyes traced the gleam of firelight dancing along the blond strands, the curl of Sean’s lashes against his cheeks where he lay sleeping, pillowed on Viggo’s chest.
Smiling, Viggo stretched out fully, sighing, and it was a sigh of contentment, of an intrinsic exhaustion left in him by their lovemaking. Jesus, their lovemaking, and how had he ever thought he’d known pleasure before he’d known Sean, inside and out? The fire in the hearth crackled, snaring his attention and Viggo gazed into the flames and knew he was in love as deep as a man could get. That’s where Sean took him, that’s what Sean did to him and Viggo didn’t want to change a thing about it.
Movement tickled the corner of his vision, and he looked up, saw that the motion was snow, gently falling outside the window, pale against the moonlit night sky. Viggo watched the softly falling snow, studied the reflection of a million multi-colored stars cast off from the Christmas tree in the windowpanes. He considered the contrasting colors, beautiful as they were, thrown haphazardly together, and didn’t think of the long road that had brought Sean and he to this place.
