because [livejournal.com profile] zasjah told me to. These flowers are called Daylillies, though I don't know if that's their technical name...look under the cut for more Daylillies and dragonfly...

Glad you enjoyed these! That dragonfly had a great attitude about having his (or her) pic taken. It kept coming back to that same bloom and would set quite still no matter how close you got...after he landed he'd cock his wings forward --the way they are in the pic--as if to say, 'ok, go ahead!'

I have more picspam! *g* Flowers and etc. that I'll post eventually...and if anyone wants to know why all the picspam I'm saying it's all your fault, ;) *hugs*

Thank you! I think all these were taken near sunset--in the afternoons as the sun goes down and the light comes through the trees it can create that really neat effect. I'm glad you enjoyed these, ;)

beautiful pics! I adore daylilies and that dragonfly is incredible! The technical name for day lilies is Hemerocallis Yours look like 'Golden Chimes'... My own favourite is 'Ice Carnival', but there is a lovely golden yellow variety called 'Little Bugger' that is good for pots and I always like to have a pot of little buggers near the back door....

Thanks! And thanks for the info as well...we have a lot of these yellow ones, as well as some yellow/orange that Mom calls "triples" as they have more ruffled petals, along with another kind that's a real dark rusty red and yellow..maybe I can get a good shot of them, though I think they've about bloomed out.

These are gorgeous! The colors are so bright and sharp, and you can see all the nuances and shadows playing over them. Very pretty.

Thank you! Most of these were taken near sunset, and really lent that nice bright color and muted shadow effect. Glad you enjoyed them, ;)
