The red, dimming sun hovered at the edge of the world, her light melting away into purple twilight. Legolas welcomed the cool quiet of nighttime, as another day had come and gone without any of the fellowship coming to harm. He stood unmoving, watchful, and awaited the coming moon.
They did not see him as they passed, as Aragorn led Boromir into the wood, but Legolas sighted the smile on Aragorn’s lips. It was a smile of night, soft, mysterious, full of promise.
The men passed into the shadows, Legolas awaited the moonrise, and smiled at the dusk dark sky.
