“I see the want in your eyes, and the hesitation. Do you doubt anything I have said, Boromir?”
“No, I do not doubt you.”
“Yet?”
“Yet, is there not another that we should speak of?”
“She knows. She knew the moment she saw us together.”
“What?”
“Boromir, my Evenstar reads my heart the way the Elves reads the stars in the sky. She knew in Rivendell.”
“She knew? But there was nothing-”
“Oh, but there was. She saw that first I wanted you, and that then I needed you. That I would one day seek to bind you to me.”
“And she does not mind that you and I...”
“That you and I?”
“That you want another?”
“Set your heart at ease, Boromir. You do her no dishonor. You do yourself none.”
“But-“
“Shh. Can you not believe me in this as well? She is in my heart, as are you. I can deny neither of you. I will not deny you.”
“Believe in me and let go your fears, Boromir.”
“I have lived long with fear.”
“Then let me offer ease. You no longer must carry your burdens alone; I will carry them with you. I will stand with you in all things.”
“No one has offered me such before.”
“I offer all that I can give.”
“And in return?”
“You, Boromir. Just you, my Steward.”
“I know not when it happened, or how, but it is I that cannot deny you, no matter what the cost... You have me, Aragorn, I cannot say it plainer than that. Do what you will with me.”
“Then lie back, Boromir. Show me what is mine. Let me show you what is yours and let there be no more doubts between us.”
