I'm honored you wanted to read it again! I was totally in love with Matt when the show aired. Lasting only one season, my memories of HMR faded, but I definitely retained a memory of Matt Hawkes! Oddly enough I remember the opening credits of Jesse Hawkes, but have no memory of watching the show itself. It's so funny you mention Teen Beat. I wanted to create a cover fanart for my fic and scoured the internet for pics of Christian Conrad and one of the ones I found that I liked I think was from Teen Beat! That's where the line in the fic comes from, mentioning Teen Beat, when Jody first meets Matt and thinks he's so fine, lol. Boy, Christian Conrad seems to have just fallen off the face of the internet, I had a difficult time finding any really good images of him! Only found a handful really.
I became seriously involved in writing and posting fanfic in the early 2000's via the Lord of the Rings (movie) fandom. I'd belonged to some email lists/groups prior to that, but eventually got on LiveJournal where my real posting began, largely Aragorn/Boromir fic. I bounced around a few fandoms but sadly during that time never thought to look up any HMR. All of my fic was originally posted to my LiveJournal, which still exists though all of my LiveJournal content has been imported here, to DreamWidth and if you scroll backwards on this journal far enough you'll eventually find all my other fic here, or by using the tags at the bottom of my journal...I haven't posted very much of my overall fic to Ao3, though I keep meaning to.
I'm sorry I missed the activity in the HMR fandom. All the old communities I belonged to back in the day are gone now as well, and it is sad. A03 seems like the best game in town now, but to me there's no community feel anymore.
I'm beyond pleased that you've enjoyed this fic! This really hit me out of nowhere, and I think is the longest fic I've ever written. I typically only write m/m fic, and I found it hard to believe there wasn't any out there for HMR! I'm already a few pages in on the sequel, which if all goes to plan, will focus on these boys falling for one another and just romancing the hell out of each other. LOL. I'm not always in control so we'll see! I tend to post notes, ideas and rambles here on my journal, and I think once I have a few chapters finished I'll start posting them here so check back for updates! And oh...do feel free to share your plot bunnies! I love a good plot bunny! I've already got an alternate universe bunny bugging me where Matt is a professional downhill skier, gets injured or hurt somehow, and Jody is either his physical therapist or his bodyguard, lol. It's still a little unclear, but definitely has my attention!
