I went back and read the whole thing again at lunch today! I was a huge HMR fan and 100% had a teen beat poster of Christian’s Matt Hawkes on my wall. I also watched Jesse Hawkes and every few years find myself watching those awful YouTube recordings.
Back in the mid/late 2000s there was a pretty vibrant HMR fic community on yahoo groups with a prolific author, Kris Petersen (aka Little Ranger) whose fic I could read again and again (and did!). It’s so so sad those stories all disappeared. SO sad.
I love your OFC Jody, and have never seen the m/m angle in an HMR fic — it feel a just right and is very well done here. I think your portrayal of Matt’s BAMF ranger-self is spot on and richly done. I don’t do fic myself but ohhhhh the plot bunnies you’ve begotten in my head. I absolutely positively cannot wait to see what comes next!
