Drabble

I have this nagging feeling that I've posted this before, but looking back at my journal I suppose I didn't...if somehow you've seen this before, apologies, if not then here's a little Faramir angst for this, the first day of spring....and here I was planning to post spring flower pic spam! ;)

Title: Beating Heart
Pairing: Boromir/Faramir
Rating: PG
Summary: Would you have my words, brother, if I dared speak them?
Disclaimer: I did not own these characters, nor did I create them, I’ve only borrowed them to make this drabble.
Feedback: welcomed and appreciated

~^~~*~~^~

Would you have my words, brother, if I dared speak them? Might you return them, or turn from them in shame? Even though I’ve followed you all my life I know not what you might do, and so I say nothing. To be near you requires the full sum of courage and resources of my beating heart, as I must conceal with clever words and cleverer excuses the truth of my desires. That truth is that I would gladly break myself upon you, your hands, your lips.

My words hold themselves still and I break, piece by piece, upon you.

To be near you requires the full sum of courage and resources of my beating heart...

That's it exactly! It always amazes me that people can get such a complex relationship across in 100 words. Well done.

Thank you, very much...usually I like to leave things a little more hopeful, though this time all Faramir would be left with was his longing...I think that means that it's time for more fluffy fic. Thanks for reading, ;)

I am always completely and utterly amazed at what folks can do in just 100 words.

This is lovely! You've captured the doubt so well. The more I read it, the more it feels like a song or poem. Very, very well done!

Thanks so much, this was all about Faramir's longing and his doubt and his inability to overcome it, at least for the moment. I'm so glad that you enjoyed, thanks for reading, ;)
