His hands gentle over me, his lips on my neck are hot. His body enfolding mine is sure, solid, and he’s unafraid. I know, because he asks every time, despite knowing my answer. It’s the proper answer, but he’ll ask again eventually, even so.
We’re together whenever we can manage. Despite knowing better, I keep showing, and each morning we play the same parts until . . . now.
His fingers tighten, lips drawing away, and his voice is strained.
“Why?”
I pull away from him, his new question, and the parting cuts me, inside.
“For both our sakes.”
And I walk away.

Neat little mention of "him" being unafraid, which implies that the speaker *is* afraid. Oh dear.

We'll see if our speaker is willing to move past his fears. I hope so! ;)

Which is also very cleverly reflected in the sentence length (long, leisurely at the beginning to curt and conflicted short passages at the end) and the syntax (the three dots to make the turning point more abrupt).
A very fine piece of work and I hope you will forgive the literary analysis :)

Oddly, with each part the length doubles itself, so the fourth installment will probably prove the longest yet. Thank again for you lovely comments, and thank for reading! :)
