I could not comment on the series before so I will do it now. I love the way the tone of this piece shifts from just being content and leisurely to abrupt confrontation and denial.

Which is also very cleverly reflected in the sentence length (long, leisurely at the beginning to curt and conflicted short passages at the end) and the syntax (the three dots to make the turning point more abrupt).
