Picspam - flowers after a rain

Wind and rain seems to be the order of the day around here as Hurricane Dennis chugs ashore...thought a little picspam couldn't hurt. Under the cut: orange Cosmos, red/yellow daylilly, rose, purple 'Rose of Sharon' and the inevitable dragonfly, ;)

Absolutely stunning! Those water droplets, especially on the last one are incredible and the detail of the dragonfly's wings is truly astonishing - thank you so much for posting these!

I'm glad you're enjoying them! I have all these pics, and since no one's said they're sick of them, I thought I might as well post them! That dragonfly was such a good sport, I even got it to land on my finger, though I didn't post that pic. Thanks for letting me know you liked, ;)

and i really like the blue-green background in the first pic.. i'm guesing that the particular blend of color is due to reflection of the blue sky? so pretty..

I'm glad you're enjoying..I think you're right about the blue-green in the first pic...that one was taken without the flash on, you can see the difference as the last pic was taken *with* the flash on so the reflection of the light from the sky was drowned out.
