Are Browncoats Firefly? My notion is more a Star Wars/Star Trek flavor, though not set in any particular universe. It's something I've had in mind for years as I moved from fandom to fandom, I just never actually wrote it. Recently its taken hold again, and suddenly has become way more specific than ever before. Just imagine Matt as a very buttoned up, clean-cut starfighter pilot, part of a fleet from Earth far from home, out hunting a dangerous enemy, and Jody as a prominent leader of a system of planets populated by a people who are technologically sophisticated, yet have retained a very tribal-like culture and are famous for their agricultural and trade goods as well as for their impressive physicality and strength, and also for telepathic abilities, to varying degrees. Matt's fleet pulls into port, so to speak, to restock and effect repairs on their ships after being in battle, and of course as soon as Jody lays eyes on a certain green-eyed blonde...well...;D
