I think I recognized that pic from Teen Beat and I definitely caught the reference in the fic, lol. Clever!
I am so excited there will be more!! The whole h/c with Matt’s bad knee bit is one of my fave parts of the HMR canon. Kris Petersen’s yahoo stories all involved him dealing with it one way or another, and in her backstory, he blew it out playing football in college, and again in the washout episode. I don’t know if you recall, but in the HMR episodes, Christian had a limp and often didn’t bend his knee in scenes and had a visible brace on under his (always tight ;-0) pants because he blew it out filming a (football) movie just before the show started filming.
So in the washout episode, they worked that in as part of his ongoing story. In Jesse Hawkes, there’s definitely an episode where he plays basketball with Cody and is wearing a huge clunky brace to protect it.
Most of the plot bunnies who haunt me at night involve some bit around h/c and his knee. Now that he’s likely done it again in your story, that could make for some fun play space. I have a friend who has had 2 ACL reconstructions and the second one is always worse than the first and surely Jody would make a great nurse/comfort while Matt recovers and maybe they even dig into this whole dirty cop conspiracy thing (while of course falling in love, lol).
