~*~

Twilight breaks, its cloak of gentle shadow unfurls. You, my stubborn Man, whispered my name once today. But the whisper did not last, and still you sleep. Your face is a pale shadow in the dusk, so I light the candle.

Fire suits you better than twilight’s silver and shade, and suddenly the gold in your hair shines. But, this is nothing next to the fire in your green eyes. My breath stills. I am undone. Your eyes glow, emerald ember-light, banked yet holding such warmth.

Reaching out, I weep, for my stubborn Man has returned to me.

My Boromir.

What a lovely, lush ending to a beautiful series. The love and care here is absolutely palpable. I especially love the contrast between twilight's silver and shade, and the fire's (and Boromir's) gold and light.

Gloriously done. My Boromir *sighs*

The stubborn Man,- oh lovely strength in that stubbornness, refusing Death. Gold glimmering in the darkness of Aragorn's dread. Beautiful.

Thank you for your kind comments. I envisioned Boromir's 'return' to be kind of a startling moment, I'm so pleased this seemed to be conveyed. Thanks for reading!

Many thanks! That the images I had of these two, and the love between them, really shone means a lot to me. I've always loved that (my) Aragorn's image of Boromir is golden and warm, like the sun, or like a flame. I'm really pleased this is how you saw it too. Thanks for reading!

Reading these 3 ... I tried to come up with some clever remark but quite frankly, I'm speechless.

Brilliant job. I am very moved by these 3 short pieces.

Your Aragorn has been so strong, has portrayed himself as strong, although the last lines of the preceding piece hint at what this has cost him and here, at last, he breaks, with joy, perhaps with terror at what has been so narrowly avoided and also because he can now that his beacon has returned to him. A fitting end to the build in intensity and tension. grand.

Beautifuly told, each word perfect. I loved reading these powerful, thoughtful drabbles.
