His touch is achingly gentle, as if the merest show of force might bruise. His kisses are the same, dragonfly kisses, soft, delicate, yet harder hunger bleeds through, and I welcome it. I map him, callused fingers tracking across his naked back. I enfold him, arms and legs, tolerating no retreat.

“Too soon,” he mumbles, eyes darkly shaded. He trembles, and his tender smile speaks of other things as his fingers hesitantly strokes my still healing scars.

He stares into me, sounding my depths. “I will not hurt you,” he whispers.

Victorious, I draw him down. “Aye, you will not.”
